Biography:
- Dr. Webb currently maintains a a private practice and serves as an adjunct professor in James Madison University’s doctoral programs in Communication Sciences and Disorders and Graduate Psychology.
- In her private practice in Harrisonburg, Virginia, Dr. Webb sees children and adults, with particularly interest in attention and learning disorders, traumatic brain injury, asynchronous development, and assessment of posttraumatic stress disorder in medically or neurologically compromised individuals. Dr. Webb has a subspecialty in assessment of gifted children with neurological or psychologist issues.
- She is regularly retained and appointed in both civil and criminal matters, assisting the court in determining the extent or existence of neurological and psychological impairment in forensic matters. She has completed juvenile and adult competency certification as required by the State of Virginia through the Institute for Law, Psychiatry and Public Policy at the University of Virginia.
- Dr. Webb has also written professional books and articles, given invited lectures and provided consultations regarding pediatric neuropsychology throughout the US. Her work has received honors from the American Medical Association, the Department of Defense, and a personal citation from Governor Jane Hull of Arizona. She is board member of Supporting the Emotional Needs of the Gifted (SENG) and the Virginia Brain Injury Council, and an active professional volunteer with the Alzheimer’s Association.
- Dr. Webb completed her Bachelor’s degree in Humanities (with honors) from the University of California at Berkeley, a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology and Family Therapy from New College of California, a second Master’s degree and a Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology. Her graduate training as a clinical neuropsychologist included a year of funded research in neuroscience and a year of work in toxicology. Her doctoral dissertation focused on neurobiological substrates of posttraumatic stress disorder.
- She completed her internship at the University of Arizona Health Sciences Center and post-doctoral training at Arlington Hospital and in a private neuropsychology practice. She was initially licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist in 1998 (lapsed). Dr Webb was licensed in Virginia in 2000 and board-certified by the American Board of Pediatric Neuropsychology in 2005 and the American Board of Professional Neuropsychology in 2006. She is a also a registrant in good standing with the National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology.
- She is a member of the National Academy of Neuropsychology, the International Neuropsychological Society, the American Psychological Association, and is a registrant in good standing with the National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology.
